Francis Taylor Building
Gary Grant is a member of the Licensing Group at Francis Taylor Building ("FTB"), a long established leading public law set based in the Inner Temple, London. FTB has particular expertise in the fields of licensing, planning, land valuation, infrastructure, environmental, public law, and regulatory law. FTB's 58 barristers include 25 QC's.
FTB is recognised by the leading independent legal directories as the leading set of barristers' Chambers in the field of licensing. Members advise and assist both the public and private sectors, local authorities and the police. Private clients include many of the country’s largest blue-chip commercial operators, small businesses and individuals. In common with all Chambers, its barristers are self-employed and independent and it is not uncommon for barristers from the same Chambers to appear against each other in the same case.
In 2015 FTB was named as the Client Service Set of the Year at the Chambers & Partners Bar Awards.
Legal Directory comments for FTB's Licensing Group include:
"Maintains its status as the set of choice for licensing law. With a raft of stellar juniors and silks, it is able to handle all levels of licensing work. Its practice is impressively broad, with practitioners acting for both local authorities and licensees in cases involving sexual entertainment venues, nightclubs and restaurants, among other matters. The set attracts an abundance of praise for its bench strength... The clerking team, headed by Paul Coveney, is described as 'exceptionally professional' and 'superb at every level'."
